As a young child, my parents gave me every opportunity to learn. Whether it was my father encouraging me to solve problems or my mom allowing me to balance her checkbook on a regular basis, I spent my life learning how to bring structure and organization to businesses. My childhood and employment experiences have given me the passion to guide and lead others to greatness in their individual positions. Working at Apicella-Lorei Orthodontics, not only allows me to bring my natural talents to the table, but also allows me to contribute to creating an environment of excellence for our staff and clients alike.
I have idealized working in the dental field based on the great experiences I have always had at the dentist. I enrolled at Harrisburg Area Community College, where I received my Dental Assistant certification, and most recently I received my DANB certification. While pursuing my career in orthodontics, I have had the opportunity to develop great relationships with patients, their families, and best of all creating beautiful smiles. At Apicella-Lorei Orthodontics I feel that I do my best to make every patient comfortable and provide them with the best care. I am a strong believer that learning is never done and I am committed in continuing my education to provide a better experience for our patients at ALO.
I am a kind hearted individual who has always had a passion for orthodontics. I recently joined the ALO team and look forward to growing within my role and becoming an outstanding technician that will inspire our patients and fellow teammates. I care a great deal about our patients and work hard to ensure them that their treatment and progress are a priority. Much like our patients, I too look forward to the end result, knowing that I had a part in their treatment, by helping them to gain the beautiful smile that they always wanted.
Having over 25 years of experience within the dental field, starting within general dentistry, and later joining ALO in 2000 as an orthodontic assistant. Since that time, I have gained so much experience by transitioning into a treatment coordinator and, now, a member of the ALO leadership team – working as Carlisle’s office administrator. My extensive orthodontic training, knowledge, and expertise allows me to provide our patients with the best care possible. Being a member of the ALO team allows me to create beautiful smiles, while building confidence within our patients. My family is also very important to me, and I greatly enjoy watching my daughter compete in equestrian events.
Growing up in a large family and being the daughter of a teacher and nurse, I share my parents’ genuine caring personality. My sisters and I all had experiences with orthodontics as children. My true passion for orthodontics flowered when my own children started their journey with braces and the inspiration from seeing the confidence that they now have in their day to day life. I enjoy the mission of teaching our community about Apicella-Lorei Orthodontics and our extraordinary team. When I interact with my patients, it gives me the opportunity to make them feel special and educate them about healthy, beautiful smiles.
I have been an ALO team member since 1972, working as a certified orthodontic assistant. I now work part-time in the ALO Business Office, but still maintain my orthodontic assisting certification. I feel that I chose this profession because my father had the most beautiful teeth and I believe I got my smile and teeth from him. However, due to medications related to epilepsy he lost his teeth. In a way, I believe I am preserving or honoring him by seeing the many beautiful smiles that have been created throughout my long career. It is also very rewarding to meet all of our wonderful patients and families, and being able to see the changes in their smiles that our practice provides. While I enjoy spending quality time with my family, I enjoy being here so much and love being with my “work family”.
Being the oldest of five children, I grew up with a great deal of responsibility and a love of being around people. I am always willing to lend a helping hand and thrive being there through the highs and lows; whether it being taking care of them or just being a great listener. With my previous years of experience in the hospital and healthcare setting caring for cancer patients, it has allowed me to be more personable and make a positive impact with patients and their families here at ALO. I love watching new patients insecurities transform into confidence throughout treatment, which has allowed me to grow and relate to our patients that much more. I strive to make everyone’s day, even with the simplest smile!
Since I was a child, I have helped my mother within her office, organizing and performing various office tasks. It was during college that I quickly realized how beneficial those skills have become, helping me to become quite organized in all aspects of my life. I also have a keen eye for detail, which I have developed from being a part of the rigid fitness community. I also enjoy helping others, and do whatever I can to share my skills and knowledge with them.
Being a part of the ALO team allows me to utilize all of those traits and has greatly benefited me within my role. Each day I look forward to coming to work and seeing my co-workers, patients, and families. It is so rewarding to see the patient’s smiles and I am proud to be a part of their amazing journey with ALO.
As the daughter of a general dentist, I have always had an interest in the dental field. My customer service experience started at the age of two, when I would go over to my Dad’s dental office to talk to the patients. My love for the industry only increased as a teenager, as I would help cover for the dental staff during their vacations. It was due to his passion for dentistry, that I attended school for Dental Assisting and began working at my father’s practice. I also pursued my Expanded Function Dental Assisting (EFDA) certification. I worked in all areas of the dental industry, from working within a dental practice, to assisting from assisting to working for a leading dental insurance company. I have even taught dental assisting. After leaving the industry for several years, I am so happy to be back working as a PSR here at ALO. I look forward to giving each and every one of you a stellar customer service and getting to know you.
My parents raised me to always think of others and be a positive force in the world. With this mindset, I wanted to do something in my career to make people happy. Along with my love for medicine, I researched orthodontics and saw the positive impact it has on a person’s life. Being here at ALO, allows me to be a part of restoring a patient’s confidence by giving them a healthy, beautiful smile they want and deserve. It is so rewarding to be part of such an amazing team that makes differences to each and every patient and make them a happier person overall.
I joined the ALO team in 1998, I have been a certified orthodontic assistant since 2000 who loves being a part of such an amazing team. I believe my passion for helping patients achieve that beautiful smile and gain their personal confidence, makes my role within the team so rewarding. One of my best attributes to the ALO team is my ability to communicate and adapt to each individual patient. Over the years I have gained a great deal of knowledge and experience from both the doctors and fellow team members, all of which helps me to provide the best care to our community.
The most rewarding aspect of my job is watching our patients’ personalities develop and their self-esteem improve. I enjoy being part of an incredible team that truly cares about each and every patient. When I’m not aiding in creating beautiful smiles, I enjoy traveling, experiencing different cultures, and cuisines. Being a team member at ALO not only allows me to meet new people in the local community, but I’m also able to share with my patients’ just how rewarding it is, knowing that I help boost their confidence and self-esteem.
I have always had a passion for the dentistry, which lead me to the dental assisting program at HACC. It was during that time that I found my love for orthodontics, as I wanted to be part of the process that allows patients to gain confidence, by achieving a beautiful smile. I am so proud to be part of the ALO team, helping to give patients the smile they always wanted.
Before becoming a dental assistant, I enjoyed volunteering at my local church and schools. It was something I could do with my family and family is very important to me. My family and I are Disney fanatics and we love traveling to Disney World and other places throughout the country.
I graduated from HACC with a certificate in dental assisting. I have always had an interest in Dentistry but was not heading towards Orthodontics until I completed an externship at ALO. Seeing patients complete their treatment and gaining confidence from their new smiles is so rewarding. It is also rewarding to know I am now part of an amazing team that impacts people’s lives.
